Railroad City Mobile Book Fair Read-in

Thank you to everyone who came out to Black Circle Brewing on September 27th for the Railroad City Mobile Book Fair Read-in! It evolved from the inaugural read-in last year. This year’s event was part peaceful place to hang and read, and part literary fest. It featured local book vendors, zine makers, comic artists, alternative media collectors, mutual aid resources and more. Inspiring is the word I would use to describe the event’s vibe – particularly given the crackdown on banning books and suppressing marginalized voices under MAGA fascism.

The Really Free Market was set up where anyone could donate items and take whatever they needed. Appreciation to whomever left the cute set of unopened rust/blue/mustard flower socks because I’m wearing them right now.

The event was also a fundraiser to repair the RV book mobile so that it can be truly mobile once more. To contribute to the cause, please donate to venmo: @railroadcity!

Upcoming Zine Events

I’ll be tabling at two of my favorite self-publishing festivals. Catch me tomorrow on Saturday 10/10/25 in Champaign-Urbana for Small Press Fest. This event only happens every two years so definitely come on out if you are in the area! CLEAR TRUTH PRESS of Indianapolis and I will be sharing a table by poetic happenstance. Which is awesome because Johnny is one of my favorite artists/beings ever. I’m honored to say that my pieces are hanging in the Small Press Fest zine installation hosted at the coolest independent art supply store, the Art Coop. After this weekend, you can find me in Cincinnati the following Saturday, 10/18/25 for Zinecinnati. Last year was my first time vending at this event and it was bustling! A must-go for any zinester. I have not been to the new location at ARCO but am excited to meet the restored historic building.
